A Question for the high mileage guys

I am in the process of closing a deal to sell my RSXS while awaiting my G to arrive. I was thinking how good this car has been to me while I have had it. The car is just about to reach 70,000 miles and has had no mechanical defects and runs great. I am hoping to jump into a G that will treat me the same way.

My question to you guys is how has your car held up, and what, if any, problems have you had come up especially mechanically?

Dont forget to state your mileage!!

Not sure how many high mileage G35's are out there...

Only problem I've had is a broken driver's side door handle (replaced under warranty)....oh, and ~24k miles

2003 IP 6MT , 32xxx miles.

Regular oil changes and maint. Only problem was a near miss (last week) with a kid in a civic si hatchback caused me to slide over a curb and scratch the side skirt, under carriage and mufflers. little bastard. Other than that, no problems so far.

47 500 for me on my early 04 6mt(sep03). both window motors and 3 radios and a baker's dozen rattles but nothing ever too big. I just hand a little list over when I get my oil changed and enjoy the loaner car.

Well shi* I have an early 04 also purchasedin sep 03 and I only got 16k miles. I got nothing wrong with my car but I fear my brakes and/or my tranny is gonna go anytime, just becuase of the horror stories ive read on this site about brembos and the G's MT tranny.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention I have an appt tomorrow for my worn out outer toe arm on the left rear. The guys that lined up my car found it. Its under warranty but just thought I would mention... I might have a fight with them becuase I got lowering springs installed the day they found the toe arm, but Ill post that experience up tomorrow.

I cant wait to get behind the wheel when I take delivery.

What would you say were some of the biggest differences you notices right from the start?

That sounds great. very good to hear.

Responding to the load of paint chips, this scares me now that I have heard so many stories about it. Mine is coming with clearbra on the front but I would have to have the doors and side rear fenders looking horrible while the front end is emaculate...

The only problems ive been seeing on high milage G's are minor IMO.

Door rattles when closing. The bolts that hold the regulator come out on their own. Pop the door pannel off and tighten them up, takes 4 minutes max.

The only other thing that ive been seeing a lot on the higher milage cars is a clogged up PCV causing massive oil leaks.

What ever you do if you see a dump truck stay away. That's how I got most the chips on my hood, front bumper, and side view mirros.....lots of contruction going on in So FL Can you believe one of the fuking truck drivers had a sticker that said, "Not responsible for damage caused by falling debris."

Here's the bumper sticker I am going to get for these ******. "Not responsible for the bullet that goes through your fuking head, that came from my gun, which I pulled the trigger, cause your debris fuked up my paint....biatch!"
