I MISS MY LUDE TOO!!! I had a 94' with the 2.2 DOHC VTEC! That car was my 1st car and will always be remembered forever! I took it up to 140 before, but stoped after like 141...(it took forever to go from 120+) well compared to my S2K or my G35 that is...
I took my S2000 up to 163 on a road trip before (or so the digital gauge cluster read)
I've taken my G up to 145 while racing a modded SRT-4 the other night.

The srt had a bunch of mods, including a stage 1, MBC, MSD, CAI, Dump Exhaust, etc...it says in the video...
My G did pretty well considering how modded the srt was!

Anyways, i met this crazy mexican guy at my dealership, drives an 03 IP coupe, debadged, mods unknown. He had his camcorder on him as we were chillin in the lobby waiting area. He had a head rest mount for his camera, and he showed me a vid; He hit 145 easily before he let off. Im trying to find the guy so i can get a copy of his vid. LOL
Myself, i havent taken her past 110 yet. My fastest was 120+ in my EG6 back in the stupid-teenager days in a run vs a gen2 integ.

On the street I keep it to the speed limit, on the freeways to within 5-8mph of the posted limit on long cruises, primarily to just stay with flow for safety, especially places like Interstate 5 where it would be relatively more unsafe to go only 65 or 70mph. I may get to the limit faster than many, but it just is not the place to be aggressive.
On the track the fastest I have noted is 152 at the end of the front straight at California Speedway, an 11 degree banked stretch that leads to a 14 degree banked section of turns 1 and 2. But I had to force myself to look down. I am pretty sure I have gone a bit faster there, but the concentration was such that there was nfw I was taking my focus anywhere but out the front through the windshield.
Car has a modified suspension so not a direct comparison, but it was very solid, and there certainly was plenty of upside left...just not enough straight section to wait on it to come. I backed off to 135mph for the Roval, and that was plenty for me that day. As one of the earlier posters noted, "too fast" is a function of the car, the road, the conditions, and very very importantly your skills. No amount of engineering is going to get you out of a pinch if you do not have the skills to deal with it, and those are not instinctive, you must learn them.
If you have a thirst for speed, take it to the track to fill it. With an organized group and some lessons. If you are blasting down a public road the only thing that separates you and others from disaster is luck. That is not usually a plan you would use for any other part of life, or other life and death situations, and for the innocent bystander or animal it is very hard to expect them to trust to your luck.
You cannot see far enough ahead on any public road when you get started on a high speed run to know for certain what lies ahead by the time you reach that speed. Even on a crystal clear day on a Arizona/Texas highway at 6 on a Sunday morning, you cannot see that Armadillo in the brush that is about to saunter his way to browner pasture on the other side with impeccable timing just so that he can meet your grill.
In most, but not all, situations on a track you have the benefit of knowing the road is clear, even when there are turns, because you have ten or so sets of eyes and ears with radios and flags known as corner workers sitting in bunker revetments constantly surveying their section of course responsibility to protect you and other drivers from mishap on a road surface cleaned and swept and prepared for racing. Hit a varmint on a stretch of open road at speed and they will collect you for home delivery with a spatula and plastic zip loc baggie. Ever since starting to track it I have gotten way more conservative on the public streets and highways. There are a lot of people who love you and will live the hurt and pain of losing you for a lifetime, even when yours is over. Be careful guys. Please.
Besides, any chimp can hang on to the wheel and go straight with the pedal to the floor. The fun and skill is in the corners. There are turns at Buttonwillow at less than 60mph that are the biggest challenge and reward of any stretch of driving you have ever encountered. Twenty three turns in three miles and you do it nonstop for 25 minutes at speed, roughly two minutes a lap. That is a coaster ride that leaves you drained and smiling. A superbly hosted HPDE in your stock G35 will be a quality day, with nice people and teach you so much valuable to your being a good driver, and a safer one.
Don't intend to be the fun police. To the contrary, if you really want to get some zest and thrill, you can absolutely do it without unduly risking your car, your license, your life, or somebody else's, and it is legal and much safer. Check it out, there is almost always a place withing reasonable driving distance anywhere in America.

135 on I 275... it was at night after some induction... This year, I am 16... It my dads merc... it was fun, but i doubt i will ever do it again... the car was sooo perfect at that speed... my friend had a TL and he hit the same ish... speeding is fun, i wanna go out to a track once i get my g...
