To G or not to G

I have been a long time fan of the G35 Coupe and was planning on getting one this summer. Now I know this is the G Forum but know that you can also respect other performance cars as well.

My question is this, do I get a G35 Coupe 6mt or a 2005 BMW M3?

Now it is not that simple, I have read many post about this topic and know that many of you respect the M3 for the car it is, so hear ar my options let me know what you think.

1. 2005 G35 Coupe 6mt – Sweet car can’t beat the looks
2. 2005 BMW M3 ZCP – Awesome car better then a stock G35 (ZCP is the Competition Package, better brakes…)
3. 2005 G35 Coupe 6mt w/Vortech SC FI and other mods – would be faster then the M and cost less (money not too much an issue but always still there)
4. 2006 BMW M3 – V8 400+hp engine, 7 speed SMG III trans, not sure of look or price but probably close to $70K (that price might make it out of my reach)
5. 2007? Skyline GTR – unknown data (The Ultimate Car)

Now I am a patient man but I miss driving a performance car. (I had a tuned up 1998 Eclipse GSX, hence the name) I hate driving a crappy car and am not sure if I could wait 2+ Years for the GTR, it would be hard enough to wait until 2006 but I probably could.

Let me know your honest opinions.

Thanks.

i'm waiting for the 2010 GTR because i know first year models are kind of iffy...i'd figure they'd get it right by 2010, for now i play around with the 350GT

If money is not an issue, M3 ZCP without a doubt although it will push $60k while a full loaded 6mt is $40k. Big difference but again, if you can afford it and can justify the purchase price, go for it. It doesn't matter which model you pick since all cars will eventually be redesigned and these two are set to be changed in ~2007. Definately enjoy what you can today as it might not be there tomorrow.

If I had a money-no-object choice, I'd be driving the 2006 M3 for all the obvious reasons.

If money was a factor, you'd see me in the car I have now!

Good luck - hard choices all but none of them will produce a bad result.

If I had the opportunity to get an M3 for a great price I would jump on it. The latest model is the best looking. I don't cvare for the re-design and it was fun getting so much power out of a six. V8 I leave to the muscle cars.

I would personally buy the G and put the rest of the money upgrading a house, but if I had money to burn I would buy one of those new BMW M5's. You really can't go wrong with a M5.

Get a 2006 Audi RS4 420 HP + AWD. It can pull a 4.5 0 to 60.

On a pratical note, I would go with a stock G35c 6MT for a couple of years.
Only to keep some money in the bank to make it grow. So that in a couple of years you can go for option 4 (06 M3) or 5 (skyline GTR).

option 3 is out for me, I dont mod my cars, I keep them stock, mainly because of warranty issues.

Considering you like to mod your cars, you will get the itch in two years time, if not earlier. You can trade the g35c for another car.

Not even close.

If you have the money, then get the 2005 BMW M3 ZCP....or the '06 M3
