19" Snow Tires?

My dealer told me that Bridgestone didn't make any 19" Blizzaks but I see now that they list both 225/40R19 and 245/40R19 LM-25's. Would there be any problems installing them on the 05' perf package wheels? Also, would this be a decent alternative to replacing the wheels with 17 or 18" and getting another version of the Blizzaks?

Save your 19s from horrible winter wear and wheel damage from swapping tires. Get a set of 17" wheel/tire package from tirerack. You'll probably come out even in terms of price.

Definitely get 17" winter wheels. You'll need the taller sidewalls to protect against pothole damage. My 17" wheels and Blizzaks were fantastic this winter with a 70# sand tube in the trunk.

It depends on which state you're in and how most winters are. In MD/VA/DC, some winters can be pretty mild. I plan to go with 18" snow wheel/tire package to keep the look since the G35c has pretty large tires. I probably wouldn't go 19" due to pot holes and bad road conditions during the winter. To me, 17" seems a little too small and for those with brembos, it may not fit.

Will putting 17's on change my speedometer accuracy? I guess I would have to try to match the combined diameter of the 17 + snows to the 19 + summer tires?

i'd also recommend a set of 17" rims & tires for winter. if you get the correct offset, 17s will fit over the brembos. just go to www.tirerack.com and browse.

personally, i just drive a winter beater (01 olds alero).

Tirerack package is a good way to go, but a really inexpensive solution is to buy a used set of the coupe OEM 17" rims with the all-season tires on e-bay (around $400-600). If the all-seasons get it done for you in the snow (depends on where you live), you're set. If not, you spring for the 17" snow tires, but it didn't cost you any more than the tirerack package.

18" perfectly ok for snow

My dealer offered a 18" wheel/snow tire package for G35c 18" sportwheel owners. Total was $1750 tires/wheels mounted and balanced. (4) 18x8.5 ASA JS8 (but don't hold me to that model number) that have the same offset as the 2004 18" OEM wheel. They came with Continental Contitract dedicated winters on them. There are plenty of potholes around where I live and although I didn't hit any huge ones, I did hit some and did just fine.

The nice thing was that on dry sunny days my car still performed and didn't have that "winterized" look.

PM me if you want details.
