performance package

im considering getting the perfromance package in the 05 g35 im ordering. however, i don't know if i like the 19's that come with it as much as some of the aftermarket ones ive seen. how much better does the g handle with the suspension upgrades from the performance package?

I noticed a surprisingly supple suspension feel over rough stuff, but when you really get into a turn it stiffens dramatically. It seems to have variable spring rates. Also, the orange stitching on the steering wheel is a nice touch with the sport package. The 19's look pretty awesome in person. The rear lip could be wider, but they are really nice stock wheels.

not to split hairs, but the package you are talking about is the "Sport Tuned Suspension Package". There's also a "Performance Tire and Wheel Package" that adds only 18" wheels and tires, nothing else. Since you used the word "performance" package, I thought I'd point that out when you are window shopping your G so you didn't end up getting the wrong thing...

Yep: Viral is correct...

Stock: (assumes AT)
17" Wheels with 225/50 Serires tires all around

Performance Tire and Wheel package:
18" wheels, 225/45 in the front 245/45 series in the rear

Sports Tuned Suspension Package:
19" wheels 225/40 front 245/40 series in rear
Beefed up suspension (a lot based on my test drives)
ALSO THE ONLY WAY YOU GET THE VLSD in an Auto (Limited Slip Diff)

Far as I am concerned there was no question, the 1900 bucks for the STS was a no brainer

Yep, sorry, I assumed you were talking about the STS package. IMO, I don't think the perf. wheel and tire package is worth it, but YES, the Sport Tuned Suspension Package is way worth it. And also correct, the limited slip rear end is only offered in the STS. Just get an MT, and you don't have to worry about the decision.

All I have to say is that on a test drive I was able to pull 80mph easy on a fairly sharp curved onway ramp without any body roll and then really punched it coming out to the highway...what a rush, haha

I also took it out on an empty lot and test the turning radius and made a complete circle to see how it holds. Then I made figure 8's on the lot too...to me it's worth the Sport-tuned Suspension

Yeah get the sports suspension but you need to get some new rims then cause that new design isnt for everybody, I dont know, to many spokes for my taste and way less sporty. Remember the ride is going to be rougher than the 18's and little more tire noise. I test drove both and man can you hear that roar from the 19's, but damn that thing can take corners with ease.

I have the STS package and the package is definitely worth it! ... unless the g's gonna be your daily driver and the road to work isn't the... greatest... then it might bet a bit bumpy and annoying. And plus, the 19 rims arn't bad ... but they'll be changed soon for me to ... something. =)

I got mine with the STS package. I get loads of compliments on my new G but more about the wheels than anything (apart from the gorgeous looks, that is).

Handling is just superb, but if you have a rough road or take a railroad crossing a little fast, hang on to something.

I would definitely buy it again.
