Exclamation safety note

Enjoy the car when you get it... I'm a little jealous though. I'm 29. Even though I wish I had one when I was your age, I'm glad I didn't. I would have never respected it. Regardless, let's try not to end up like these folks: https://g35driver.com/forums/southern-california/49525-g35-coupe-accident.html

Drive safe.

Please don't assume comments like 'dont crash' are purely out of jealousy. While its true most of us who are older didn't get $30k cars as presents and we are insanely jealous - thats not entirely the point. It is incredibly rare for smoeone not to get in an accident in their first car. That's just the way it is. We are saying it becuase we all crashed our first (and sometimes second ..) cars at least once.

No one wants to see a wrecked G.

Drive Safe.

Whats up man, welcome to the forums.
I'm kinda in the same situation as you...I turned 18 a few months ago and last year when I turned 17 I got my 04 G coupe, black on black but auto. Forget about any of the haters on here..we're lucky to have these cars, but I'm guessing your high school is prob the same as mine where ist really isn't uncommon (6 gs here, more than 10 3 series, buncha TLs, A4s, Saabs, Volvos, etc. and then you have a few Ranges, S classes, 7 series etc.) The auto is seriously fun as hell to drive, no regrets there at all. The mods I have so far are...
12" Elemental Designs Sub & Hifonics Brutus 1500 watt amp (like $500 together)
I didn't replace the bose speakers, and just adding the sub sounds sick.

JWT Pop Charger & Z Tube (Like $200), makes the car sound siccck

15% Tint all around (200), goes great with the black

Hardwired Bel BX65 (200), used to have V1, but this is much better

Clear Corners, tinted at 5% (50), looks nicer than stock.

Stillen 3 piece chrome grille (250ish), older people hate it, i love it, makes the car stand out more.

I used to have 3 monitors, but saw people staring into my car and didn't want it to get broken into for no reason. I also debadged the back apart from the Infiniti Logo, just looks alot cleaner. Painted the calipers red and put on Inifiniti stickers to add a little personalization to car. I'm in the process of getting some wheels, looking at 19 or 20inch Zenetti Fives in Chrome (around 2500ish with tires). So for around 1500 without wheels, you can have a pretty nice looking G (so I have been told). Good luck with the new whip and enjoy.

Hey guys I just got back from school and whoa I read that accident report. I seriously wouldn't want to get into a wreck like that more like not getting into a wreck period. I don't plan on driving stupid. I mean maybe a lil race here and there but not always speeding and driving like a maniac. So hopefully I should be going to the dealership sometime this week or the next.

Well, my first car was a 1965 Chevelle that my dad and I purchased together for a few thousand dollars. We worked on it together (I paid for the engine, wheels, paint, interior, everything with money from my job I had at night and weekends after school) and finished it when I was 18. I'm 29, and I still have it. I took care of that car like it was an extension of me. I believe that it kept me out of trouble too, because I spent a lot of time working on the car instead of doing stupid crap with my buddies. Also, working that hard for something and putting blood, sweat, and tears into something gave me a sense of pride that mostlikely led to the main reason I never wrecked it or damaged it like many "kids" do to their first cars. I don't think these rich kids (generalising) now a days have the same sense of ownership or pride for their cars that are just given to them., and that's one reason there are so many first accidents. Just my $.02.

The best advice I can give you is not to do stupid **** while driving. Don't race on public roads, it puts lives in danger. Your friends may think that you are cool, but showing off by flooring it everytime the light turns green is not only hard on your car, but the rest of us will think you're immature.

Also, if you ever drink and drive, please only kill yourself and not some innocent person.

You're extremely lucky to be getting a G35 for your first car. You're even luckier than someone else is buying it for you. My dad covered my down payment as an early college graduation present for me. I consider myself lucky. But you more so.

Also, go to college. Don't d!ck around like I did the first few years either. You don't want to be 24 and still have a year to go before you graduate. Get in, get out, get on with your life.

So, that's my advice.

A stock G coupe is plenty sporty enough. It's obvious you're a good saver. I say take that $5k and put it in the bank! Get a CD or something and then put that dough towards a house when you're ready. I wish I would have done that when I was your age.

I don't plan on driving stupid. I mean maybe a lil race here and there but not always speeding and driving like a maniac.
That is driving stupid. It only takes once to mess up bro, be careful out there.

b/c I'm not nice. I thought advice about how to drive a stick shift was going beyond the call of duty.
