K guys, I think it might be a saftey precaution as to not blow out your system? The reason it resets at max is in case it was turned up all the way before the car was turned off. That way you wont blow your ears and/or system instantly when the car is turned on again since bass should be gradually raised? The reason I say this is because its fine at level 4 (bass or treble)...just a thought. Or it could be Infiniti F'd up...in which case I want a new one later on...

I was pricing out a new deck and I'm not the most knowlegable with the audio side of cars.
Replacing the new deck with a non OEM set up, i.e. Pioneer or Alpine, will that kill the buttons on the steering wheel?? I would hate to have a brand new car that you cant use the driver friendly controls...
