G45
G45
I have heard rumors of the VQ45 being dropped in to the G for the '07 redesign ... So I just wanted to get your thoughs on if you think its actually going to happen.
I personally think it's the m45 coupe that there talking about .
But a G with a nice big V8 sounds appealling for some odd reason ... lol

i've actually considered the same thing...all manufacturers offer different engines, why not the G? i mean inf has a m35 and 45 as well as the fx35 and 45....i think there would be substantial demand for the car...i would trade mine in for a g45...although it does not roll off the tongue as easily
it would have to be all wheel drive though with that much power especially if they want sales in the northeast and canada

AWD as an option would be much better .... or save it for the gt-r looking at the top sercret VQ45DE-TT those are some awesome numbers almost 2JZ/RB26 like. I think it sould be a very viable option I have my deposit waiting.
I heard something like that about the ability to bore it out but in that sence you could bore the 4.5 out to a 5+ liter monster plus its been my experience that unless you strap some turbos/nitrous to a six anything else you do still dosent quite give it that kick in the pants as the extra 2 pistons. My friend had a NA supra that he bored to either 3.3 or 3.5 but even with high compression pistons and all the support mods it didnt feel as fast as a TT supra which in my mind is on par with most V8's.

Two words - 1) Weight 2) M45.
Believe it or not the M35 Sport is faster than a G35 Sedan on the track base on Best Motoring test data.

There's a magazine out right now (Sport Compact Car or a mag like it) that has a G on the cover that a guy in Japan did this with. He redid the motor mounts, dropped in a VQ45 and twin turbos. They didn't say what kind of hp numbers he was pulling but they had to be ungodly. The title og the article was something like "The Next GT-R?". Interesting read.
Just to be clear, when you bore out a block you only gain a few cubic inches or fractions of a liter. Its a larger stroke crank that gets the extra displacement. But that 4.3L crank kit looks awesome, would probably smoke most turbo and supercharged cars. Sorry...... ****.
