it would have to be all wheel drive though with that much power especially if they want sales in the northeast and canada

I'm not so sure about the 4.5L engine just because it would seem to jump classes and eat into the M45 market.

Believe it or not the M35 Sport is faster than a G35 Sedan on the track base on Best Motoring test data.

Based on a copy of a Nov.26th 2004 issue of Japanese weekly car magazine "ベストカー” reads "Best Car", Nissan was test driving the suspected next generation GT-R at Nurburgring, Germany again in the fall of 2004. The pictures of this car driven at Nurburgring in the magazie showed current G35 body as mock, but explains that with extended front and rear fenders, making it over 1900mm in width, with wheelbase of 2850mm. Based on this article, the engine is being tuned in conjunction with Cosworth, a V6 3.3L VQ base twin turbo, producing 460ps. It also speculated that the air outlet on the bonnet suggests electrically assisted twin turbo.
If I had a scanner, I would post the pages from this magazine here (all in Japanese but..), but sorry I don't.

Not feeling the idea for a G45. Bigger engines need bigger capacitiy. Meaning - a heavier G. The G35 as it stands could use a bit more weight loss, possibly using more aluminum skin (doors, trunk...an alum hood would be a nice addition too) like the M35/45, other than it's "just" aluminum hood.
anyhow, anyone know where I can find a CF trunk for the coupe?

I can't wait to see a test of the the 2005 versions of the Skyline- Motortrend claims to have tested an M35, check the test reports section, it does appear a bit quicker than the G-Could be gearing I suppose-
However, that's besides the point. A G45 would be pretty damn sweet. Merc does it, why not Infiniti- At least we can dream. Would be pretty cool in the next generation model.

For those of you who are wishing for an "asian" competitor to the AMG, BMW M-series, and Audi S/RS line, if it makes you feel any better Lexus is rumored to be working on a high-performance line of cars beginning around '07 or '08, and probably the first model is the LF-A concept (aka Toyota Supra successor) tho supposedly the Lexus engineers are internally split cuz it'll send the "wrong message" about the brand.
