resonator / mid pipe for G35Coupe

Is the mid pipe and the resonator the same item?

Does anyone make a high performance replacement for a coupe?

Has anyone removed it all together and replaced with a straight pipe?

1. The resonator is part of the mid-pipe, but they are not the same thing.
2. The stock resonator is a straight through design, minimal flow obstruction if any. The only people who are replacing it are sedan owners who have a huge suitcase sized resonator.
3. Yes, and it doesn't sound good.
