Lightbulb Newbe Question

Hey guys, im a newbe here, but I've been with 6mt.net for a while. I wanted to ask you guys for some info about the G. I want to stay N/A and i would like to gain some info on what parts are good for mid power gains for an everyday driver. Im more of a handeling and suspension guy so my knowledge on the VQ35 engine is rather limited. I currently have a Z-tube and tanabe pro-sc coilovers. I'm looking to get a fujitsubo y-pipe. Thanks for the info!

I've heard the crawford plenum is a great power gainer and of course you could always go with cams. supposedly helping this engine breathe a bit more freely does it lots of benefit.

How are the 05's making the extra 18hp? Man, that sucks for anyone who dropped a couple of grand on pro '05 mods, only to have Nissan engineer the same amount of power gains for next to nothing.

What are you basing this on? From this dyno day a stock '05 6mt put a best of 239rwhp and 237lbs/ft and the best MODDED non 05 6mt put 241rwhp and 231lbs/ft....this was with intake, plenum, exhaust, HF cats and flywheel versus a stock 05.

The numbers could be skewed anyways...so who cares?

actually my 05 AT which has the same 280hp engine as pre 05 MTs I got 252RWHP so 13 better than the 298hp 05 MT stock, and I have an AT so a lot more loss. (that wasa 262 actual, 252 SAE)

The mods pay off, better mileage, better punch, fun to tinker with the car.

From what ive gathered, the G35 auto trans. are pretty efficient and don't show much, if any more loss through DT than a 6mt.

it is true the design of the AT only shows 2 - 3% additional loss over the MT, vs the sorta of accepted 5 - 7% you'd expect.

Well if you look at a lot of their mods, they would be better off. The ztube and 3/8" spacers on one added about 10rwhp or so which is about right. One guy has a ztube, intake(no added power), DC headers (from what ive heard, they produce the lease amount of hp), exhaust (again no power) and HF cats (which should add some hp) but he is misssing a plenum or spacers.

Can anyone overlap 2 dyno's, one with the stock 05 6mt and the other with a lightly modded pre 05, just to see where they intersect?
