I've Been Offered A G35C

Here's the deal:
Someone is willing the trade his fuly loaded 6-speed G35 Coupe (2,500 miles) for my 2003 Maxima SE AUTO (5,800 miles) + $$$.

This guy doesn't seem to be happy with his G35 and he is asking me to make an offer first. How much extra cash should I shell out?

Well If you dont want your Maxima Then I would get the coupe. Get book value on both the cars and negotiate the difference in price from there. Also not happy with the G35c??? Make sure there is nothing fishy there I mean come on not happy with the G35c I dont know about that one!

I've tried kbb.com, and it doesn't have any information on the G35C, or any 2003 Infinitis for that matter. (Am I clicking a wrong link?) So I guess I'll have to deal with the pain of negotiations.

That does seem a bit sketchy. If he's that unhappy with it why didn't he take it back to the dealer or something like that. To each his own I guess. Look at some of the other posts (here and freshalloy.com) and make sure that his car doesn't have some of the frequently posted problems (CD player errors, etc.). Good luck.

Check it out by driving it for a day or 2, and have a mechanic check it out too. Can't see too much being wrong with the G. Maybe he's upset with the notchy shifting or seats or some other relatively unimportant things.
I'd also talk to the dealership where it came from. They may have some history on the car too which they would share with you. G/L

My first thought was to ensure the front suspension hasn't been damaged. Consider taking it to a empty parking lot and do some casual, slow figure 8's and see if anything feels funny. ...dean

Damn I'd go for it. The dealer's is gonna cover vehicle if there's any problems anyways. Just give the dude a couple thousand for his car and your maxima and be on your way.

1) get his VIN# and go to his dealership and tell them your situation.
2) get your mechanic to check the suspension
3) test-drive+ thorough walk-around (for chips on wheels/brakes, scratches, etc.)
4) make sure all warranties are fully transferable.

Re: I've Been Offered A G35C

Looks like a great deal but why dose he want the Maxima auto? The Maxima is a nice car but it a different class as the G35 coupe. If he wanted a sedan I would say he should go trade it in for the dealer for a G35 sedan, unless he wants a fwd sedan.
