the nissan cedric (the '04 to '05 M45 here in the U.S.) only lasted 2 model years (barely), and the 1st gen acura tl ('96 to '98) lasted 3... but then again acura's 1st gen NSX has been around since '91 (and it still offers only a cassette player - no cd!) and the last gen integra has been around from '94 to '01! IMHO, lexus has such a huge market share (currently the #1 luxury brand in u.s.) that they don't really need to change that much (here in hawaii, lexus has almost a cult status). but the G35 is Infiniti's and Nissan's most important car, the car that almost singlehandedly saved the company from bankruptcy. it's anyone's guess what infiniti would do, but i think it's fair to say that if they don't do a complete redesign by '07 or '08, then they'll probably do a pretty significant overhaul - esp. since Lexus just redesigned the IS250/350 and the new "mor3 powerful" BMW '06 3-series is out now. oh, and then there's the still front-wheel-drive TL...

The G20 ran from 91 - 96, then from 99 - 02. We might see a sedan redesign before the coupe. kind of like BMW. they release the 3 series sedan first, then the coupe 6-8 months later. I would say that the sedan will see a redesign for '07. with coupe's being badged as '07 1/2 and '08s. The 300ZX which had the same type of significance as the 350Z ran from 90 - 96. That is 7 model years. if that is a model of nissan's redesign schedule we won't see a redesign until '10. I don't have dates for the generation before that, but you can bet on the fact that the 350Z will not get a face lift for 5 model years. So 03 - 07, leaving a redesign in '08. I don't think that they will release a new model until the VQ35/45 have run their course. so by my estimations we will get a new model with a VQ37 or 38 with a corresponding VQ47 or 48 V8. I am hoping that the next model they leave room in the G for the V8.

Yeah, but car companies that dump a body style 1-2 years, do so if the cars a flop. The G's are selling strong, so I would only look for minor changes every coupe of years.
'04 changed to ther '05 might happen again for 08 and the a complete redesign in '09 '10
2010 is going to be a hot time to own a car. The whole new dedesigned 2010! I can see it now!!!

"exact same" might be a bit of a stretch... ...considering it's model-specific mechanicals and body panels.
An updated version of the "base" Skyline (350GT) shouldn't be far from the GT-R's launch, since that car will bring a ton of buyers in that can't afford it. The dealers are going to need something to cash in on the opportunity, which I believe will result in some mildly significant cosmetic changes to G35.
I can't help but wonder, given the Skyline history of being offered in NA RWD, Turbo RWD and Twin-Turbo AWD models, if we might even see (along with some cosmetic changes) the addition of a single-turbo RWD model like the GT-S models of past. It would slot in neatly between the G35 and the king-daddy GT-R.

At the end of my term i have either a choice to purchase another G35 or the M35 Sport. But anyways, just a little advice that might help you out
