I don't think anyone answered one of your specific questions so - yes - the G is certainly sleeping in the lower rpm ranges .. try to get another test drive and whip her up above 3500 .. cause you wont want to do it when you get yours tommorow during berak-in.

Yea that was my experience as well. When I gassed it hard I was asking myself "Where was the surge of 280hp?" (2004) I am coming from a 170hp car and I was expecting the 110hp difference but only felt around 30-50hp more. I think the G35c serves more as a tranquil luxury sports coupe than a thrust your head against the headrest type of car. I guess Nissan was aiming for a different crowd.

Hope you enjoy your new car.

Im thinking its the opposite. My previous cars were a 00 celica GTS and a 01 Acura Cl-s and those 2 cars were sleepers in the lower rpm ranges. Both cars really came to life at high rpms and I was expecting the same from the G after break in, but was dissapointed. Like i said b4, the car is quick, faster than my celica and Acura, but I thought it would really come to life at high rpms.

I came from a Turbo Supra...let me just tell you...this car feels just as quick, if not quicker (Supras are heavy cars too) without the worries that come with forced induction.

Vettes are cool - G35's are HOTTTTTT

Glad you got one! Ivory Pearl Rules!

The real question is, what are your plans for mods???

I must say, that im somewhat disapointed in the raw power of the G too. The car is fast dont get me wrong, but at 5000rpms i think it should feel FAST! Maybe its just me, but i neeeeeeeed a TURBO!

The G doesn't FEEL as fast as some cars, because of the very smooth and linear torque curve, especially the '05. It will sneak up on you. Look down at the speedo when you think you are doing 70, and you're doing almost 90. This smoothness is one of the reasons the VQ35 is rated as one of the best V6s in the world.

Cgocifer hit the nail on the head. That's exactly right. On the ol' butt dyno, the G35 feels less quick in acceleration than my previous dakota V8. My dakota was always a little faster, in a race, than my friend's A4 turbo 5spd ('01). But my G wipes the street with him.

It doesn't feel as fast, but it's in there, don't worry. ; )

you can. you just have to follow the diagram on the bottom of the trunk lid. i put 2 sets in my trunk all the time.

you can buy fully adjustable aftermarket headrests. i believe several people have done this, just do a search.

try here or do a search, several people have aftermarket shifters installed: http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...roducts_id=856

I agree. Go aftermarket.
