03 6MT "slip" light coming on while braking hard and cornering

I took the car out tonite and was kinda pushing it on a nice twisty road. When I cornered to the right and braked heavily, the slip light flashed and I got a vibration like the ABS was kicking in....I got it to duplicate the problem several times....Is this a warranty issue...or is it just time to turn the rotors or something...32k miles..brembos....thanks...

rules of physics still applies, at some point.

That is the VDC holding you on the road. when you start to slip, the computer tells the whells to do many different things to attempt to get the car in a straight line...

At least this is my understanding of the system.

so does this mean that if I had the VDC off, that wouldn't have happened?

Thats right. I have had that problem a few times when I fly into and out of exit ramps and slightly tap the brakes while making a sharp turn. I just turn VDC off to avoid it now.

heeb, what exactly is the "problem"?

That the lights come on?
Or do you also feel the pulsating sensation. i woudl not think so since you said you only tapped the brakes.

not sure about heeb, but my problem is both...the light and pulsating in the pedal...and the sound of the pulsating....

Look, it isn't a "problem". In cornering with a rear wheel drive car, if you are going that fast around a corner that sharp that you are on the edge of sliding, tapping the brake could throw you into a slide. Try this at slow speeds in a parking lot on ice. Once the front of the car has advanced past the rear, the rear wants to slide to compensate. this cars VDC will stop that slide from happening by engaging the 4 wheel ABS and will indepently choose which wheel needs to slow down to get you back on track for the corner.

The ice example is a good way to learn to ACTUALLY drive these cars. you can be in a completely controled circle with the car, and by tapping the brakes or tapping the car the car wants to spin out of control, this is where the VDC comes to save the day... HURRAH. Did you know that VDC has saved more lives than ABS. And combining the two is ingenious.

What is the condition of the tires? If the VDC going off is a new phenomena, it could mean that your tires have worn out and need to be replaced.

A bit yes. It's simply the laws of physics regarding momentum and inertia. It's how our entire solar system works with the orbitals.

thanks for your input...

it was a legitimate question....I've had cars on the same road that handled it better than the G in this case....I was simply concerned that the system may not be working correctly or something.....if we can't ask questions without someone trying to insult us, what's the forum for?
