Removing rear spoiler?

Hey guys some a-hole egged my car the other night and it gave me a pretty long scratch and egg shell impact on the trunk lid. The scratches and impact are spread across the spoiler and the trunk lid, so now I have to remove my spoiler so I can try to get out the scratch. Can anyone tell me if it would be hard to remove the spoiler and put it back on without me messing anything up? And if anyone knows of where I can get instrucitons to get it off it would be much appreciated thanks.

Usually spoilers are only mounted with a 3M type double stick mounting
tape/gasket and a couple of nuts. As long as you replace the mounting tape
with a new one you should be fine. Don't over tighten the nuts as it will
deform the trunk lid.

good luck on the fix.

I assume you are talking about the factory spoiler on the coupe?
They are mounted with three bolts, six snap in fittings, and a bunch of sticky tape. The tape is pretty much all the way around, the three bolts are right near the middle and the six snap fittings are 3 per side more towards the outside of the spoiler. Take off the interior trim panel first, there are 10-15 of the little interior trim snap fittings on the trunk lid. Press the center in just a bit and then pull the whole thing off with your fingernail or a small screwdriver. Once all those are off the interior trim panel will come off. You should see the three bolts, take the nut off and then you just need to pry up the tape and get the snap fittings to release... those will take some force. Work the tape up on one side first... maybe a heat gun will help. Good luck!

if it is an OEM factory installed spoiler, they drill holes in your trunk. it's one of those decisions that you don't want to go back on. kind of like the front license plate, they drill holes in the front.

It might be better to find someone that wants one and just do a trunk swap.
