Crossfire
What do you guys/gals think about the Crossfire? My buddy is planning on getting one. Other than the fact that it is really a last generation Mercedes SLK for a very reduced price and better looks, what are some other opinions? Every time I see one (rarely), I still have doubletakes/tripletakes. I think they are very eyecatching.

I'd rather get a Z

Right now you can get one with 2500 cash back. Included features are dual zone climate control, ESP, 6 speed, HID, two tone leather, some other cool features. So for around 32,000, this isn't a bad buy. It only has 215 HP, but it is a small car. The body is by Ghia, and the rest of the car is by Mercedes. So, not a bad buy for the style, and handling you get. Just my opinion. My buddy was quoted 32000 out the door! I told him to go for it.

I remember the first time I saw one, I was quite impressed not knowing what kind of car that was. The wheels made it look like a million bucks so I stared at it for a good couple of minutes. Then I sat in one at the autoshow and got claustrophobic inside. I wouldn't think anyone over 5'9 would fit inside comfortably. Visibility might be an issue too with that small back window.

my dad bought an '04 6d Crossfire in July of 2003 (3rd one in state of Florida). at that time, the car received the craziest amounts of turned heads i have ever seen. When my dad brought it to Orlando to show me it and took me for a ride, literally everyone was gawking or staring or complimenting the car. I used to ask my dad if I could take it out everytime i drove back to Clearwater. Now that I have my G, my dad wants to take my car on when I drive back home. Funny, isnt it? Anyways, it's a nice car overall. The resale is horrible. You can get a very low mileage Crossfire for mid $20k. The handling rocks. The exhaust note is awesome (not compared to the G of course). My dad has received great service from his dealer back in Clea****er. No major problems. The car is underpowered..but the light weight makes up for it. The car is pretty car becuase of its light weight. If your friend is going to buy one, I would get a slightly used one...otherwise you would be murdering yourself after you look at the resale in a year.

I think the styling looks good, not as good an the G, but to each his own. The main reason I didn't get is because it was underpowered as mentioned before. I thought about the SRT6 version, but that was a little out of my price range.
I personally don't understand why they would make a sportscar thats underpowered.
