What's up guys, I got my 05 6 MT about a month ago and JUST hit 1000 miles yesterday. When i first got it, i notived that in between the speedometer and the RPM gague (in that little circle thing) it said "rev". This is the same place that "slip" comes on when traction control kicks in. I called and the service rep said its a feature in which you set ur RPMs to a certain number and the "rev" light comes on when you've hit it so you know to change gears. I was thinking i would set it once i learned to drive the thing and i broke it in. Now im thinking that it was a bunch of crap and the guy was BSing me. CAN ANYONE HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?

Alot of people would tell you to search the forums or read the manual... hehehe, but it's not BS...

It starts blinking at a 500 RPM below the RPM you set via the trip meter, then turns solid at the designated RPM. You could set it to 3-4k to remind you to shift to save gas or set it to 7000k so you don't hit the rev limiter.

But if you want more info just look in your manual on features and benefits.

That light comes on when the flux capacitor kicks in. Just be careful to not go past 87 MPH, or you are FUKT

My REV indicator stays on no matter where I set the rpm value. Time to visit the dealer?

The "REV" is always lit. The big red LED below it is the actual indicator.

this is the stupiest feature. there's no reason why that light should remain on.

I'm actually greatly relieved. I was setting the rpms by the book, and that darned REV just wouldn't go away. What's wrong with my new G?!?

Turns out all is well. I'll set it at lunch time so I can see the actually indicator come on.

it was a nice feature to have during break-in. i see the rev at 3900 or so, then the led would blink when i got close to the break-in rpm limit.
