installing z-tube

Before i buy a z-tube for my G, i was wondering how difficult it is to install. I have found a few guides online, but they seem pretty complicated. Should i take it to a shop and get it installed, or should i do it myself? If i do it myself, are there any really nice guides out there? Any advice?

It's very easy to do and takes about 10 minutes.

It involves removing the G35 engine cover. Then loosening the clamps and screw that hold the G-Tube in place. Removing the G-Tube and then installing the Z-Tube in the G-Tube's place. Reinstall the Engine Cover and your are done. It is easy.

Thanks

It looks complicated cause people who put these DIYs online try to make it clear as possible and at times they go too far... I should know, cause I put one for the Z-Tube and JWT Pop Charger...LOL

Not a big deal at all. If you know how hold a socket wrench you're good to go.
Here is my DIY just in case...

Dumb/Newbie Question

And now for a really dumb question by the newbie, what does it do like performance wise. Are we talking like 5 extra horsepower and what makes it better than the tube that comes on the G? Also where can I get it for a great/good price?

1. Performance wise, not much.

2. Buy it used from a 350z site.

3. It is better because it's a straight tube. Our's has sound baffles (extra space to reduce the noise...aka extra restrictions)

And Neffster's right, if you run a search, it's prob been answered 100 times

Actually, what I was recommending was that you buy as used 350z's intake tube from a 350z forum's classifieds section.

It's a pretty simple install process. It took me about 15 minutes.

how much does popcharger + z tube usually run for? i was told around 180-200.. with that price cant i just get a cold air intake? wouldnt that be better since the ztube is like a short ram?
