Best Hard Luck Story?

Here's my hard-luck story with a happy ending. Anyone got a better one?

On Thursday March 31 I bought a brand new black on stone 5AT. It had 14 miles on it. I had been thinking about it forever and saving my pennies.

On Saturday some a-hole dinged it in a carpark. I was really p1ssed but not as p1ssed as on the Sunday when I tripped while out walking and sprained my RIGHT ankle. I also broke a bone in my RIGHT foot.

One of the Lawyers at work warned me that if I drove in a cast and had a prang I'd almost certainly be found at fault so I relied on lifts in all sorts of non-G cars. I hopped around on my crutches. Every morning and every night I took a peek in the garage. On Sundays I drove her around the sub just to get it out of my system.

I got the cast off today! I negotiated the cast time down from 3 weeks down to two and it worked! I came out of the Orthopedic surgeon's place and pried the keys out of my wife's hand. She didn't want to give them up.

Tonight I was on the freeway doing a relaxed 80 (cos G only has 400 on the clock) and a very nice red ZX300 came alongside to see if I wanted to play. I waved him off till another day when she is broken in, but it was a nice moment after such a ****ty few weeks.

Now the fun starts.

Nice story. Glad you're ankle is better. I laughed when you tripped and sprained it though. How many miles on the car now?

I had a similar ding story. I ordered my car, waited 3 months for it, picked it up with 14 miles on it, drove it home and into the garage, went out of town for a week, finally was able to get it out in the sunlight for the first time and noticed a large indent and crease in the quarter pannel. I have no Idea how it got there unless while on the way home when I stopped for a bottle of wine to celebrate (not more than 5 minutes away from the car). I took it to a paintless dent repair facility who made the car look perfect again for a little over a hundred bucks, but that week from time of discovery to repair really, really sucked.

My house burned down this past July '04....and my car was right outside the garage. My family lost everything...and i mean everything, but everyone was ok thank god. We are currently rebuilding in the same location. I guess good news is that I ended up getting a 6MT???

Beat that story

You win so far...howd you get to snap a pic of the fire? How did it start? You just happned to have a camera?

Sorry about all your losses/misfortunes, but this only makes you stronger. You guys need to apply to FHM's "buy this guy a drink" card lol...

I'm glad your all OK; the house & G burning made me sick!!!

I walked out to find an ugly ding in my drivers side door one day, not a door edge ding, more like a rock from a mower type ding, very deep and no angle; drove straight to V&V body shop; was fixed for $35; can't tell it was ever there.
