05 Vette C6 MT vs 05 G35 Coupe 6MT

Vette vs G35
I had on of the first C5 Vettes, in 1997, and had nothing but problems. The C5 did improve to the point it was reliable in its last few years. Assuming the C6 is simply a continuation of the C5 I have considered buying a new C6. However, my G35 is a great car and IMO offers better quality than the Vette plus we like the extra room in the G35. I'm a former National SCCA driver and have logged many miles at the wheel of many race cars on many race tracks. The Vette is definitely a sports car and the G35 is a sport coupe. Only you know which one you really want. Have fun in the hunt.

haha its a g35 forum and most people are voting c6 lol. If I had the choice between the 2 I would definetly pick the c6. Soo much raw power. But If we factored in the m3... Id def do m3. You might even want to look into getting a used NSX if you like that kind of style
m3 > c6 > g35 > my older Toyota corolla
m3 > c6 > g35 > my older Toyota corolla

I crossed shopped the C6 since I owned a 2002 C5. Bought it off the truck and never had one problem with it other than squeeks and rattles. My insurance was only $50 more for the C5 than the G35, but I'm old he he.
The reasons I went with the G were comfort, smoother ride, I can actually hear the stereo, and percieved quality. I would never buy a vette the first year it is out. I am waiting a couple years for them to work out the bugs and I'll take another look.

get the c6....... the ls2 with a heads and cam (go with cartek if you're looking for an H&c package) alone will put you in the 11's with at least 400 hp/tq at teh rear wheels, and thats conservatively tuned. plus, i don't care if they're leaf springed......they still stick like no other. .99+ on the skid pad, and the interiors are coming up in quality over the c5.....even though i'd take a z06 just b/c i like the hard top look, or a new z06, just because they're insane.

I faced the almost the same choice: '04 350Z or C5. At the time the C6 was not out yet. I was drawn more towards the Z for it's looks and the C5 for it's OEM power.
If I had to make the same choice again, I'd proabably go with the C6. I like the integrated headlights. If money was really of no object, wait for the new Z06. It's rumored to start at $75K; however, you get a 7.0L dry sump and an amazing suspension.

If money is not part of the equation, it is a no brainer-get the C6. The Corvette has a certain appeal which the G35 can't even come near. I have read that the C6 is now a very relaible car. I think the fact that if you went on a Corvette forum with that question you would be laughed off the forum, and that fact that even going to a G35 forum you still get a majority of the people saying C6 speaks volumes about why it is a no brainer. Hey don't get me wrong, I would rather have a G35 and 15k than a C6 but if money is not part of the equation get the C6.

IMO:
Styling and uniqueness: G35 hands down... I see vettes at every stoplight in every city in America... a G35 with the right wheels/stance/etc. looks better than almost anything on the road...
Power and fun factor: C6 hands down... the G is SLOW as hell... you will not be satisfied if you are buying it to be fast car (assuming of course that you are keeping it stock... but even if you plan on modding the nod still goes to the C6 because as others have noted the C6 takes very well to mods)...
Of course, if you want to beat both cars in both regards, get a Supra LOL, sorry I couldn't resist.
