03 vs 04 vs 05 G35

Im a newbie here, but how did they extract the extra HP from the 05's. What are the difference in motor from 03, 04, and 05's?

This wont be the most complete answer, but I belive the ones with 298 HP rev a little higher and thus get a little more HP out of the torque on tap. Also, check the torque numbers on that car, I believe it has 10 LESS ft/lbs of torque, so it may pull a little less at low rpms.

I say get a stock 04 and a stock 05.....find a empty parking lot and have a lil fun, to be honest with you, I think it's all marketing by the automakers.... that's my opinion, are there any numbers out there to back the extra 18 ponies??from any major auto mag? better 0-60 times?

It's always had intake timing conrol, in 05 they added exhaust timing control. They also 'beefed up' (dubious about what what that means) the internals to support the higher redline. I believe it's covered at www.infinitinews.com in one of the 1st press releases for the 2005 G35.

I want to see one article from any mag that will show an 05 being faster than an 03 or 04....maybe in automatics cause of the "sport tune" nad the fact that the engine remained the same as an 04....other than that...its a wash

I raced one of those yellow 350z's that has 298 hp the other day... Its no differnt... at all. Same results though 4th and 5th that I always have....edge in 4th, pull in 5th. The only thing I noticed was he was shifting at the exact same time as me, so it seems that they might "hang in gear" a little longer than the extra 400 rpms they recieved.... maybe they made it rev slower now... I honestly have no clue. All I know is it just seemed to be no differnt than a standard 350z. 18 hp + or - isnt going to make one car signifcantly faster. Its still 100% a drivers race.
