service engine light
service engine light
i have OCD with my car, i change the oil at 1000 miles and every 3000 after that and i change the tranny fluid ever 5 thousand miles along with the plugs and air filter now i know that this is a waste of monay but you know what i love my car... my question is that the service engine light is on and i dont know what to do to get ride of it...
There are numerous ways to get rid of the SES light. You can do an ECU reset. The easiest way is to remove the negative terminal from the battery for at least 10 hours or so. There are more ways by checking out the sticky in the Technical and Modifications forum. If that doesn't work, you may need to find a place or someone with an ODBII scanner and reader to figure out what is the problem. Hope that helps!!
Try tightening the gas cap.
Seriously, that is one thing that will make the light come on.
If that's not it, get someone to read the codes and tell you what is wrong. Some auto parts stores will read the codes for you for free. Otherwise take it to the dealer.
