1st Brake Job..

Hello,
bought my G in October, drove it all winter. I now have 12,000 miles on it, and the brakes need to be replaced... What can I expect from my dealer besides the same defective parts beiing used as replacements and of course the complimentary car wash... any of you guys/( girls) been thru this yet??
(5At non brembo)
Whats different about the 05's that have corrected the problems with brake dust and accellerated wear???
thanks to all...
RichB
ps.. by this time next year my 36,000 mile brake warranty will be useless..
what are suitable replacements...

I only have 7500 miles on my G coupe, so Ill probably be needing this relativly soon. I've done some research on this topic. You could go with the Brembo Brake kit, and save on the wear time. If braking is a big deal for you, you could go with a bigger brake kit, like AP Racing or stoptech. If you wanted to stay with the stock brakes, i hear the HKS brake pads seem to help a little bit. Try doing a search in the forums and see what you come up with, I know this topic has been discussed many times.

I just hit 9000 miles on my 2005 and I have 8mm of pad left (more than half original size) in the front, and brake dust is fairly minimal. So it seems the braking problems have been cured.

As far as paying the dealer to do a brake job, either get one of those awesome gran turismo brembo brake kits, or do the brake job yourself. Buy some pads from Infiniti, or a better aftermaket set, and get the rotors turned at a parts shop, costs $15 to turn rotors at my local shop. So you will either have a sweet set of brembo's, or a brake job for less than $100.

thanks for the ideas.. I will let Infiniti service my brakes till the 36,000 mile warranty runs out, then I will get my own pads and rotors. seems the acks are fine its just the front pads that wear quicly...... high performance..... high maintenance....
goes with the territory.
thanks again RichB
