G35 Coupes 2003 vs. 2004

I have a DG 6MT , Premium, Aero on order that will be here by mid July. I am now considering cancelling my order and ordering a 2004 that will be here in September. I have waited this long... six more weeks will not kill me! The salesperson said the price may go $150.00 or so with no changes whatsoever to the car for the 2004. By the way, I'm in South Florida, so the summer weather does not matter.

I've been hearing that the price increase of the 2004 G35C is around $1,500 - $3,000. Also they probably fixed most of the kinks of the 2004. And it’s already midyear so I’d go with the 2004 G35C.

I heard someone at the "other" forum that they were gonna have All Wheel Drive.... Might try to trade mine in for one of those...

The '04 Coupes will not have AWD. I'm pretty sure the '04 Sedans won't have it either. The prices I was hearing were also in the $1500 increase range rather than $150, but keep in mind that re-sale on a '04 is going to be about that much higher than a '03, even if the '03 is only a couple months older.

One completely unsubstantiated rumor I read was that the '04s are going to be half an inch higher off the ground. Other than that, I've heard they'll be the same as well.

I just got a call from my salesman. I have the vin # now and it will be in several weeks early. By 6/9 instead of mid July. Since the market value for a 2003 vs a 2004 will be about the same as the price increase for the 2004. Might as well go for the 2003 instead of waiting until Sept, Oct or November!

If AWD does come in 2004 on the coupe or the Sedan I'm trading mine in.

according to industry opinion, the 04 coupes will have a slightlyreworked interior and AWD will be offered but it should be a option, not standard. Dealers won't really know price increases until Infiniti corporate releases pricing officially. Also, delivery is still unclear. I have heard estimates from Sep/Oct 03 to early 2004.

if you do get the '03 and wanted to trade it in sometime, it would look good if you keep the mileage low and considering it's an '03 they might give you a little more. but that's my opinion.

Re: G35 Coupes 2003 vs. 2004

Not so fast!! Personally, I'd look at depreciation of the 2003 models before I'd decide. If its a 1K difference between 2003 and 2004, but the 2003 are dropping 3K in value once the 2004's come out, it'd be stupid to get a 2003. At least in a 2004 you'll get another entire year of driving without the next year model depreciation hit. There's a big difference between getting a car now and taking the hit in 4 months, and waiting 4 months to have the car that won't take the hit until 16 months from now. This is especially true b/c there are hardly no "deals" on ANY G35's right now.

I was going to wait and get a 2004 for just this reason, but the dealer, along with my bank's loan numbers were able to minimize this depreciation hit considerably, so I went with a 2003.

Just something to take into consideration if you think you'll ever be trading your car in sometime in the future.

What dealer told you about the 2004 prices? I ordered from South Motors, R order, July delivery, and I hope it does not come in early.

If they're raising the 04 half an inch higher then I'm glad I got an 03. The car is too high off the ground as is, I practically fell out of the car when I test drove it. I guess some conservative drivers complained about scraping.
