Rattle
Rattle
I just took my coupe to the dealership for a rattling I noticed near my rear glass when I ran over reflectors on the interstate at around 60 mph. The technician sat in the back of my car while I drove and said that it was the speaker housing. Supposedly, there is a memo out by Infiniti regarding this problem. They are adding padding to the speaker housing to get rid of the rattling. Just an FYI out there for anybody who may run into this problem.

Re: Rattle
Thanks for the heads-up bro. That's a common area for rattles, now there is a fix.

Re: Rattle
I believe I have the same problem. When I go over lane markers on the freeway, I get a strong sharp vibration noise that seems to be coming from the roof area somewhere. I have not been able to isolate it yet and the first attempt by the Dealer came back as "no probelm found." When you say they are padding the speaker housing, is it the side rear speakers or the speakers on the the rear shelf?
Please let us know exactly what they fix and if it works? Also is there a TSB number relative to the "memo" you mentioned?
Thanks........

Re: Rattle
how many of you have rattles coming from the center console? i don't have the nav pkg, and it seems the area where the LCD would be makes a bit of noise... only 1200mi, and its a little irritating to hear any noise... on top of that, how successful have you been when taking your car to the dealer to get rattles/creaks fixed?
Re: Rattle
Hey dude, I have nav and I seem to have a similar rattle coming from that same area of the console. I took it to my dealer and unless you can point out EXACTLY where it's coming from they will not likely be very helpful - it's not easy to figure out exactly where a rattle is coming from.

Man oh man, thanks for the heads-up...that lil rattle has been irkin' my nerves for a while, and based on your description/location, it's got to be the same deal...
Killah...I 'preciates it much!!

Re: Rattle
i just picked up my ride from the dealership and they were mistaken with the initial judgement of a loose speaker panel....the rattling was comming from the headliner. i kinda figured that it was something above...but i figured that the rear glass wasn't set right......there were 2 things that came out of this rattling from the dealership.....the rear clip on the right side was loose. also, there was a service rep from the infiniti headquarters there and they put my car on the alignment machine and checked out the car with a 2x4 under the rear tire to simulate the rattle. Come to find out there is some sort of manufacturers defect that causes the rattle and they installed a urethane pad with felt cloth to suppress the vibration. no noise now when i drive over the reflectors.
