Clear Film near Rear Wheels?

Hi,
When I went to pick my car up on Monday (but didn’t because of problems) I noticed that in front of the back wheels, on the body was a clear plastic like shield on drivers & passengers sides, located just as the rear fender flares out. Is this a normal piece on 05 g35 coupes? The edge was slightly noticeable. I circled the location in the picture.

Thanks

yea mine had it also, when I was talking to salesman about getting clear bra, he told me that infiniti is putting that material in that spot when they reach port, just something extra.

Pretty sure they all come from the factory like that. I've seen that on every G going back to at least '03. During the wind tunnel tests that portion of the car was getting hit so they put protection there.

I noticed on the '05 they had that on the back of the side view mirrors also, which didn't appear on the '03.

It has always been there since the 03 model and yes it comes from the factory not at port.

My detailer told me this clear film (3M film) may turn to light yellow color after several years. Take it back to your dealer to replace it. It is under warranty.

Are you sure you are not talking about the splash guards?

I wish the G came stock with a clear bra from the factory (or at least have it as an option)- why not? Easy way for Nissan to make even more money.

it's a pain to buff wax off those things. wax gets stuck right along the edge, and then i have to usually take a fingernail to the edge to get the wax out...lol

This part of the car faces the most wind drag, which means debree is most likely to hit that part of your car (sand grains, rocks, etc...), and so they put it on all cars as required. Nothing new, and no they didn't "forget to take it off".
