Advice Please?

Well, with my "Q" order due to be delivered within the next week or two, I have a very important question to ask all of you: what tint percentage would look best on a Black/Willow coupe in California? I have narrowed it down to these three options:

1) 35% on the rear 3 windows, 50% on the front sides

2) 50% tint all around

3) no tint at all

Technically, front tint is illegal in CA, but I figure I can get away with 50%. I don't want to go any darker than that (as a young, dark skinned male, I don't want to give the LAPD an excuse...). Which of these three options do you guys think would look best on a Black/Willow coupe????

Thanks!

Re: Advice Please?

I got 5 percent tint on the back and two doors (all around accept front windshield). Cop pulled me over for no front plate, he said he didn't mind about the tint on expensive car's, but said if it was on a honda or something really cheap they would of got me for that. But they don't make a big deal on more "expensive" car's who have the illegal tint. I live in Southern Cali... He actually complimented my car and was on his way, just told me to get a front plate...lol

And it looks gooooooood all black tint on a pearl white car... =)

Re: Advice Please?

i'm getting tint done tomorrow, 20% on the back 3, 50% on the doors. the 50% on the doors won't be much darker than current stock, still have good visibility but will be much cooler (literally). while tint is illegal on the side, i think the biggest concern is visibility. as long as they (police) can see you, i don't think it will be a problem.

if you get a ticket, don't quote me on that last line!

Re: Advice Please?

I live in Long Beach man and have 20% all the way around. I haven't had any issues with the police. I do agree that I think most cops don't ticket more expensive cars with tint on the sides. But remember in cali ANY tint on the sides is illegal, period. I think 20% looks great on my L.R. and is still light enough for good visability. Check my G in the rides section if you wann see. Peace.

Re: Advice Please?

go with 1 color all around, dont mix transparencies, it will look odd.....
My advice is to go 35% all around because you have willow seats so it will look lighter than it really is

Re: Advice Please?

Thanks for all the input guys. I just don't think I can get a good feel for how a tint looks just by looking at pics of other people's rides. I think I'm gonna head over to a high end tint shop and look at various tint percentages in person before making a decision. Ideally, I'd go with 35% all around, but I'm still a little worried about getting pulled over all the time.
