the back wheel looks different then the front, are the rims the same size? or is it the different size tires?

i see, what would happen if you put the same size tires on the back and front?

If they both fit, nothing too bad....but your VDC will not like it at all

you can put 245/40-18's on the front to approximately match the rolling diameter of the stock 225's.

putting the same size tire all around would also decrease handling capability in the RWD thats why they are staggerd

Not just tires, but springs, sways and probably shocks are also staggered from the factory. Changing the front tires is just one piece of the puzzle.

staggered helps reduce oversteer. If you make them equal all the way around you get less oversteer, and you have the ability to rotate your tires. But they prob designed the car with the different sized tires in mind.

whats staggered and oversteer?

staggered = different widths, as in 245s up front, 275s in back.

oversteer = your rear tires swinging wide on a turn (the opposite of understeer, or plowing, which is your front tires pushing forward instead of turning in a curve)

also I believe the 05 sports package on the AT is 8" x 19 front (w/ a 225/40)
the rear is a 8.5" x 19 (w/ 245/40)
