I stopped by the dealership to see if they could reprogram the keyfob to unlock both doors with one press on the unlock button. I find it annoying to have to keep pressing the unlock key twice to unlock both doors once. Plus it wears down the keyfob battery sooner. The service guy said it can't be done. Both my Lexus RX 300 and prior VW Jetta turbo were reprogrammed to unlock all doors with a single press. I find it hard to believe it is not possible on our cars.

Just press the damn button twice. I can't imagine how much of a strain it is for you to close the door or turn the ignition.

haha... seriously, like the car sucks, bc u have to push the damn button twice... i mean seriously, its not like they did this for security so when ur in a dark area, u dont open both doors so some maniac can hope in from the other side... what were they thinking!??!?!

I have to twist the mechanism too far to start the car. I wanted to change it so I only had to turn it 1/8th of a turn instead of 1/3 of a turn.

I'm thinking of trading my car in on something with push button start now, but only if I can find a car where I don't have to press the start button in too far..

To answer your question, YES you can set the coupe to open both doors with one click. I have mine set this way.

Tell the dealer to set the Door Lock/Unlock function to Mode 2 (Unlock all doors ). Good Luck

Sarcastic Fellows, please reread the original post. THINK before you post rather than typing a reply at your first immature whim. Why replace the keyfob battery twice as often as one needs to?

eek.... I've had my Accord for almost 6 years, and I have never switched the battery, and I have had to tediously push the button twice.

P.S. It's a 35K car, you're not seriously going to compain about a $2.00 battery that needs changed every 5 years, are you? Complain about it being a pain in the ***, but don't bring up the economics of replacing the battery.

The key for the Nissan Skyline (Japanese version) only requires one push to unlock both doors... maybe there's some way. But it's a different key though.

does anyone know where I can buy a keyless entry remote protective cover? Im worried about the buttons accidentally being pressed in my pocket, therefore requiring me to have the $3 battery replaced every 4 years instead of every 5.
