I just recently order a G35 coupe from the dealer. The dealer told me that there is a way to check on the status of the order, such as when the car will be built. Does anyone know how I can get that information? The dealer did give me a order number for the car.

Not sure where u can check. Did they tell you around what time will you be getting your car?

 

There is tons of information on this board about the process. You should read the posts from the last three months. Here's a brief rundown of the process.

If your car was ordered in the first week May it will be built sometime in June and delivered sometime in July, early August. If you live on the east coast your looking at late July.

If you did not order your car in early May your order wont go in until June, add a month to your delivery date.

For example
I ordered March 8th, 2 days too late for the March orders.
I was assigned an order number in early April.
My car was built in May.
Its currently in Transit. You'll know its in transit when your dealer issue you a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). If your on the west coast you'll get your VIN about 2 weeks before the boat docks.
Figure another 2-7 days to clear customs.
At this point your VIN will show up in dealer inventory.
Another couple of days and you'll have your car.

Be patient, as you can see I've been waiting since March 8th and will probably have to wait another 3 weeks.
