PLEASE HELP!!! DE-BADGING

Ok,
I have debadged many of motorcycles, jet-ski's, etc......but never a car. Especially a G35. How do you do it in a clean, safe, manner? On a motorcycle you would use a hair dryer or heat gun, is it the same way with cars? I looked at mine yesterday and the G35 emblem is on there pretty damn snug. HELP..........thanks in advance........MASTERSR6

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! DE-BADGING

Your cool man, no prob. It's real easy and took me about 10 minutes total. You need a hair dryer, some floss, and some type of paint friendly cleaner like Goof-Off. Just use the hair dryer on the lettering until they become hot. This will ensure the sticky foam tape under them will become viscous. Then just squeeze the floss in between the lettering and the surface and use a sawing motion back and forth while pulling the floss downward. The letters should just pop off. I was actually able to get most of the foam tape off with the letters as well. If there is any foam tape residue left over on the paint you can probably peel most of it off with your hand. For the rest of the "gunk" just use the Goof-Off or othre paint friendly cleaner. It should come off real easy since most of the G's are fairly new. After that I recommend using a cleaner wax on the area and then re-apply some carnuba wax from zymol or Meguars. Hope that helps out. Peace.

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! DE-BADGING

it took me 10 seconds to debage the "g35" sticker...i used this special tool, i think its called "my hand"
hehe
just use your hand and fingers and be gentle. They come off pretty easily (3M 2-way spongy tape)

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! DE-BADGING

LMAO--you are exactly right!! I will not advertise for INFINITI, and help them sell cars......I mean maybe if they would've hooked me up a little bit on the price then I would leave my license plate bracket on and help advertise there dealership.....but NO WAY now, plus I liked that real clean look that was posted a couple of days ago, by taking off just the g35. Anyways, thanks for ya'lls help.....peace

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! DE-BADGING

Talk about some hardcore anti advertising people. You should of checked with Infiniti in the first place to see how much they would of taken off the sticker price if you bought the car without the badges ;-) j/k

Can you even put the badges back on once you take them off?
