Question about the g35 coupe

I was planning to buy a 05 G35 Coupe AT. I was wondering is the auto as fast as the manual or is the manual like quicker by like a little bit. Also i heard the G35 autos they dont pcik up tourque that much at high RPM?

Thanks guys sorry about this lame question but im kinda new here. Still learning.

the 05's have 18 more hp and 10 less torque, in the 6mt's...

the 04's and earlier had the same engine...

speedwise, same i guess...

manual is faster, assuming you can shift like a pro ... most people cannot shift that well

Get the 6 speed, it's a whole lot more fun to drive. I was going to get a Bimmer until I drove the 6 speed G35.

It depends on what you want to drive.

The only way a 6MT will beat the 5AT is if the person is a skilled shifter, and even then will only beat it by <0.5 seconds at most I'd say.

People always forget that while the 05 6MT gained HP, it lost torque, and that the 5AT has more torque than the 6MT.

don't buy the car base on how fast auto VS manual.
auto guys will say auto faster and manual guys saying the same thing.this issue will go on for ever.
unlike the old days, now the technology allow them to make automatic transmission shifts just as fast as manual and doing so consistence.
on the other hand.with a skill driver which know how and when to shift without any miss can make the car run like it surpose to.
to me,there's no such thing as which one is faster.lots of things factor in.
so please choose your car base on how you drive it.
get auto if you more of a relax, kick back driver, living in socal and have to deal with bumper to bumper traffic, talk on cell phone while driving alot.(it still can give you a kick when you want it).
get a manual you're an active guys, want the 'fun' factor, want to do alot while driving, want to do tires spin once a while, afraid of someone say 'you drive an auto?' also i believe manual is abit cheaper.
you can't loose either way.hope that help on you decision making.good luck

Measured at the crank but not at the wheels. 6mt has less drivetrain loss.
