bulb sizes

Re: bulb sizes
You can find them all on page 8-24 and 8-26 of the owner's manual. They're both T10 bulbs, but the clearance light is 5W whereas the corners are... some strange lower wattage that I can't remember.
My question: has anyone come up with an easy way of getting at the clearance lights (and other headlight bulbs)? Is taking off the front wheels still the best way to go? I gotta get me a hydraulic lift.

Re: bulb sizes
The clearance and the sidemarker bulb is the same exact bulb..... both "168" bulbs....
Its possible to do the clearance w/o taking off the wheel but its a heck of a lot easier to take off the wheel. You can do it w/o taking off the wheel after you've done it once.....

or

hope this helps...

Re: bulb sizes
JDMan is right..... both the clearance light and front side marker lights are the same size (T-10), but different wattage. Side marker lights are only 3.8 watts whereas the clearnace lts. are 5 watts.
It seems they sell different wattages in the same T-10 bulb.

Re: bulb sizes
Not sure of the cost of these bulb replacements, perhaps one of the guys or gals that have done this would know. I can't imagine them being that expensive.
I believe these bulbs are accessible through the fender well after removing the wheel and inner liner. Just like replacing the fogs or HID's.
Yes I would do it in a leased car. You're gonna have it for 2 to 4 yrs., so you want it to look cool for all that time, right?
It will look real sharp with the clears and brighter clearances.
Good luck with your project, and post a pic after you've finished for us to see. I'm also thinking of something a little brighter for the clearance lights.
You will also find some helpful info on this subject in the Tech & Mods Forum at the top of the page: Nadz240's thread.

Re: bulb sizes
The clearance bulbs are cheap. Well, they can be more expensive if you want them to be. I only paid $6 for one. Don't think your lease matters. It's not like it's a huge investment on a $36k car. I haven't tried installation yet, but it looks like it's a little bit of a pain. I hate taking my wheels off. I always get this niggling doubt that I haven't put sufficient torque on the lugnuts after I put the wheels back on. And I hate leaving the car on a jack stand.

Re: bulb sizes
Well, does it matter if you run a slightly higher wattage for the clearance bulbs? I already ordered the clear side markers, and want to replace the stock clearance bulbs and side marker bulbs with the chrome amber bulbs. Unfortunately, the company I found that sells these "wedge" bulbs only come in one type of wattage. So you think it will matter at all if the side marker bulbs are at a higher wattage?

Which wedge bulb should I buy? I want two... one for my side markers and one for my clearance strip... PLEASE HELP ASAP
