I am also a s2000 owner and have been on s2ki for 2 years and although i've never raced my s2k against my MY05G I can tell you the s2k is a faster car. Lets face it, the G35coupe isnt a true "sports car." You are seriously comparing apples to oranges. Stock vs stock the s2k is faster and will out handle the G hands down. G35 is a luxury coupe its like comparing a bentley continental and an Murcielago[okay maybe not that extreme, but you get my point]. Although awesome cars, one is a true sports car.

Hello everyone,
It's funny. I've been watching everyone go back and forth regarding the G35 coupe vs the s2000. They're both great cars. I prefer the G myself. The video posted on http://www.racingflix.com where the s2000 leaves the G35 coupe was modified. If you look at the times for the 2 cars they're very close. Motor Trend has the S200/04 rated@ 5.8 0-60 and they rated the 2003 G35 as well @ 5.8 0-60. Road and Track rated the G35 coupe @ 5.6 0-60 for the 2003. The 2005 has even more power.
There are many variables determining who is faster. Every car won't turn out the same times. Different drivers and skill levels, weight of the drivers, temperature, altitude, amount of gas in the car etc., there are many variables. I think the cars are so close that any given day it will boil down to the driver. I think they're both fine cars.
Here are some excellent links for all you car enthusiats:

Have a great week everyone.

Very amusing reading. Some of you guys need to get a grip. I'm an S2000 owner that is shopping for a daily driver. I'm keeping the S2000 and the G35 C MT is near the top of my list for the daily.
What's even better is that my wife works for a company that gets the VPP pricing so in theory I can order one exactly the way I want it and get a good price on it. Last year Infiniti of Kirkland have told me they won't honor the VPP on a 6MT - only an auto or sedan. Different story this year. Just got off the phone with them and it looks like they will work with me if I go with them.
Anywhoo... S2000 vs. G35C in a straight line is a silly comparison at best. Neither of these cars are single purpose drag racing machines. Buy a freakin' Camaro or Mustang if that is your thing.
Enjoy your rides for what they are. The G is a cool looking GT that does a lot of things well. I like the interior but don't love it. If it had an interior closer to the SC430 I'd have an Ivory MT coupe right now.
I don't street race but I am an avid autocrosser. The S2000 is a excellent tool for that job. If I do pick up a G - I'm sure I'll auto-x a few times to get a feel for it at and maybe beyond the limits. I have a series title to defend this year so I'm definitely going to run the S2000 for the points though.
I'm sure I'll do a track day or two in the G if I get one but the extra weight of the car will probably make it less fun than the S2000.
Peace.
