Do We HAve A Gas Mileage Counter

I have noticed in my friends 350Z he has a counter that lets him know how many miles he has until his gas tank is empty.

Does the G35 have anything like that, that will let me know how many miles I have until I need more gas?

I would think so being that it is a more luxorious and higher priced car.

Sorry if its a dumb question. i am fairly new here. Thanx you guys!

If your G was equipped with the Navi, then yes.

Press on INFO button (on the dash) for the Navi, and I think you can go to Fuel Economy.

This tells you the current average miles per gallon and the remaining gas until empty.

I hope that helps.

If your G does not have the navi ...
there is a little known gauge on the driver side panel, that has a picture of a gas tank with a big letter "E". When the needle sits on the "E" for a prolong period of time, then it most likely (although it has not been completely tested) means that you need to purchase more gas.

Just messin.. nah, I don't think there is a way to tell if you do not have a Navi.

Just use the fuel gauge like I do. After a while you'll know as accurately as the navi does.
BTW Where are you from?

There was a multi-readout like that on my '02 Max. which I loved, but on the G's you need the navi. Otherwise it's the gas gauge and low fuel light.

Best way is basically estimate if you dont have navi. figure the cars approximate range when full would be about 400 miles give or take depending on how you drive, since its a 20 gallon tank and gets around 20mpg. Half tank is about 200 miles of gas, 1/4 tank 100 miles, 1/8th tank 50 miles.

You folks would have loved the old VWs.
They had no gas gauge. They had a "reserve tank" that held a couple of gallons. When you ran out of gas, you turned the lever (in the car) and it allowed the reserve tank to empty into the regular tank. Then if you ran out of that gas, you walked. If you forgot to close the reserve tank valve after filling up, when you ran out you were really empty.

Ah, progress!

I use that feature on the navi all the time.. distance to empty with the feather. I don't even look at the gas gauge anymore. the trip meter and oil change indicator is nice too. so glad i got the NAVI option.

Anyone know if the mpg info that is displayed on the navi screen is available through an obdii code?
If it is Id like to read it through my computer and display onto a small 20x2 character lcd
