I have those on order. Another guy here has them as well as someone whom is local to me. The local guy loves them and says they added a good bit of power and they sound good without being all raspy or poppy sounding.

I heard people are banging-in their floor panels to get them to fit and then have to listen to them rattle.

hmmm... actually the first thing i noticed was this quote on the site:
"G35 Coupes and Sedans require slight modification to the floor panel for clearance."
was wondering what the hell they meant. thanks for clearing it up. lol!

actually, crawford cats also require some modifications. The heat shields need to be bent to make more room for the cats to move around.

That was the case with the first Helix cats. The new DNA series is their updated cats which are a lil bit smaller than the original to clear up the fitment issue.

This was the info that I was first told as well by other people using the Helix cats. I dropped an email to www.intensepower.com and asked if they had Helix cats instock and they said no that they were about 2 weeks out. I asked if their shipment coming in was the new design and they said yes it was.

I came across a thread on my350z, in which someone posted a vid of their G35 with the Helix cats. Shortly after taking the vid, the guy installed a plenum spacer and started getting an annoying raspy sound. He thought it was the spacer, so he removed it, but the sound remained. Now he has the cats for sale.

Here's more info & sound clip..

I personally am torn between the Kinetix and Crawford HFC and to this day no one knows whether the $150 difference is worth it.

I think his car sounds good. If he is hearing a rasp coupled with feeling a vibration then it is a fitment issue. According to vendors, Helix has adressed these fitment issues and thus has released their new version which I have on order. I'd be more than happy to attempt a video and give a review once I have them.

And the price doesn't look bad compared to Crawford. I'm leaning towards Crawford just because down the line I might decide to add the plenum and headers and from what I understand mixing brands won't yield the same results as getting the entire Crawford package. I really don't know to what extent that is true. Keep us posted on how your install goes. Are you running stock exhaust now?

I've had a set on order for a month now. Checked yesterday and the word is that the 'new' redesigned cats are still in R&D and will be the ones which will not contact the body when installed. At 1st they were going to reduce the circumference to try & correct the 'rubbing' problem but found that it wasn't quite that simple if they were to maintain the same level of clean-up as the originals. For now, Helix does not indicate a timeframe for completion. Only that they are going to hold mfg until they are sure the new design is correct.
