I talked with the guys at Grubbs and they said most people that are serious that do the NA mods are satisfied and end up FI anyway. They recomended to not bother withteh NA mods and go straight to FI. I've also heard the best NA mods are the Hi flow Cats, Ypipe and Plenum.

I would say tinman has the fastest G35 around. Twin turbo, even if it's an automatic would blow the doors off anybody's elses car I've seen on here, just my .02.

Those are numbers the majority of 03/04s can't reach even modified. How much better than that does it get with N/A mods only? I'll take power wherever I can get it, but I'm not too optimistic about the gains.
We recently had a dyno meet and ChuckD dyno'd his 03 or 04 at 250 to the wheels. I believe tat was with pulley, test pipes, CAI, Kinetix intake (not sure), and Nismo exhaust. That was also with his 19's too.

I dyno'd at 232 to the wheels bone stock (Z-Tube and K&N) and a new bone stock Z (04 I think) with only a few thousand miles dyno'd at 226. We all dyno'd on the same dyno, same conditions etc etc. ChuckD, Myself and the Z were all 6MT. Go figure!! I was shocked with the numbers the Z put up.

^ how do you say, bone stock (Z-tube and K&N)? not really bone stock but you could say close to bone stock

I have this dyno day from somewhere, not sure how accurate the #'s are, some seem too high....but it gives mods with #'s

edit: just checked and they used dyna pack, which usually yeilds better #'s

Well we had a bone stock '04 6MT (no Z-tube!) that dynoed at 233 rwhp, so I believe you Drew. My friend's '05 5AT 350z dynoed 249 rwhp with only an Injen and test pipes, he may or may not have had an exhaust at that time. So that 226 is very, very low. Guess you 03/04 folks are lucky to be able to benefit more from N/A mods. Only time will tell, not that many modded '05s yet.

I have an 05' and the only mod is the plenum spacer right now but that seemed to make a difference all around.

If all you are looking for is 50 hp... get NOS. will probably only run you 5-600.

its nitrous.. but anyways go for a kit and add some more to it.. iono if our cars will need bigger injectors for more fuel etc.. look into it.. but thats seriously the cheapest way to get power..

and before anyone says anything.. with tunning and some of the equipment avliable now its pretty hard to blow up a motor unless your a complete moron

Man I wish I had money for all those mods...Intake and exhaust are realistic, but the other stuff is unnecessary and costly...although I wish I could do it...

Unnecessary? It all works together as a system, an intake and exhaust won't do much by themselves without a plenum/spacer, cats and headers. The stock exhaust is pretty good actually (as opposed to the plenum and cats), so you're pretty much paying only for the sound and some marginal gains with an aftermarket one.

Only 10-20whp? Im not talking about doing a intake and exhaust here...im talking about the whole shebang!

- Intake
- Dual Exhaust
- Headers
- hi flow cats
- plenium
- grounding wires
- ECU reflash
- pullys
- flywheel
- etc etc etc

Only 10-20whp from all those? Man, i know counting hp is tough to do (i was told this is called "ricer-math") but damn, just estimating the power makes me think it could be a serious increase...esp in the "feel" of the car....maybe not huuuuuge dyno numbers...

Any thoughts on this? Anyone have all these parts?
Consider, that an increase in peak HP is not the same as a peak increase in HP. Most companies will boast the peak increase in HP. And it's not to say that is bad, but it usually will not be an accurate way to estimate a new peak HP level. The peak may only see a few HP in gain with each mod, but you may see broader gains perhaps earlier and later in the powerband. It's certainly welcome, but it can be very misleading.

BTW, has anyone actually added up the cost of all these parts? I gave up buying bolt-on NA parts after I installed my first turbo. After having spent a lot of money adding bolt-ons with very little gain in power, I found forced induction to be much more cost effective. On my last car, I actually spent only $250 on a used exhaust that I later sold for the same amount. I had a couple intakes but they were free. In the end, I had 100 HP more than I started with and spent less money trying to squeeze out more power than I did with other cars I owned.

281 at the wheels with Injen intake, headers, test pipes, modified injen exhaust with Bassami x pipe, motordyne spacer, underdrive crank pulley and a disconnected AC compressor...With the belt back on the compressor the car made 275 at the wheels..The impact of drag on the engine is simply amazing..

Not flaming, but I would get that dyno checked out. Seems like it is reading high. Most g's have stock baselines of 230 or so. You gained 45whp from those mods?
