Philip hid bulbs come in all kinds of temps.

In response to Grider, yea, people change them for better visibility - but you really don't get better visibility with the higher temps. It does seem whiter, but it's actually dimmer. To me, I can't tell the difference, so I prefer the bluer/whiter color (which is probably why 99% of the people out there change them).

When he said "everybody", it was just a figure of speech...

I read the Philips 4300k bulb is the brightest xenon at 5300 lumens. I wonder if PIAA's hid bulb has the same light output as the Philips, both are 4300k.

Hey guys, I know the 05 models come with xenons standard, because I looked it up on the infiniti website, but what about 03-04? Do they come with xenons standard, or is it an option??

I thought our cars came with stock 4300K bulbs?

And yes that is the brightest output out there. Changing the temp dims the light output but gives you a different color

philips doesnt come with all kind of temps, it only come with 4300k and 6000k anything higher they dont make it due to it will not prove visibilty.
actually stock is kind dark for "me" whiter color works better on reflection eg. all the sign or lines on the road with white color they will reflect better, but in foggy day or raining day yellow is better since yellow lights can go through fog.
i have my philips 6000k low beam and osram 3000k for fog and high beam. you can also upgrade your high/fog to 3000 HID but cost quite a lot.

7000k or anything higher just look nice since it's blueish/white but it's dimmer.
with stock HID you dont need to upgrade your ballast for us we need d2r.
check on ebay a seller name ntbk is selling philips 6000k. i bought two set from him before one for my bmw and one for g35, a great seller and true philips not those knock off ones, just tell him jack tieh send you, you should get some discount

Not true. My lexus is300 uses a stock philips 5000k bulb (whiter than my g35's stock bulb). Philips also comes in 3000k ultinon bulb (yellow). They may also come in 4100k (but i'm not sure about that).

I bought some cheap korean brand hid bulbs from ebay before. They looked awesome (had a white/purplish color like audi's) but they ended up getting too hot and melting. I only use philips now - even though they don't look as good. Don't trust the cheap stuff.

With your low beam (HID), I would recommend only philips (color choice is your preference, but I like white/bluer). Since you want to change the bulb, I'm assuming you want the same. My ultinon 6000 look pretty good. If you want a pic, I'll take one tonight or tomorrow for ya.

With the fog/high beam bulb.. I'm not sure about that. It's hard to find any halogen bulb to match the xenon. The closest i've found so far is the piaa super plasma (not gt-x version). The GT-x version is the purplish color and is too dim and looks way too dull compared to the HID. The regular super plasma (you can get from optauto.com) matches better and is brighter.
