Is it possible to use 3M Acrylic Foam Tapes to stick my front license plate on bumper

Go for it if your just trying to get a no-plate ticket signed off..otherwise I wouldn't.(aslo make sure the grip is not too good, don't want to rip of the paint) Anytime I have seen anyone tape anything to the paint...when they take of the tape later on down the road....there always tends to be discoloration...either form the glue or just "tan" lines from the sun. Do a search on this forum..I know a few people have made good inexpensive brackets that can use your front tow hookup. If you do decide to use it...prep the 2 surface properly and it should stick like Michael Jackson on a 12 year old.

If it's for a fix it ticket, the cop might be a jerk and realize that all you've done is tape the plate to the bumper, and not sign off on it.
what I did was to buy an extra tow hook cover (they don't come painted), drill 2 holes in it, and bolt the license plate to the cover. Then I placed foam tape in the back of the plate, to not scratch the paint. This is a $15 project, as opposed to the other commercial products out there.
the CHP still gave me grief over "destroying" the front plate, but they eventually signed off on it. I can switch between the plate on, and my original tow hook cover without the plate in about 1-5 minutes, depending on how careful I want to be.
