Insurance Problem..

Guys, why is my insurance company refusing to put me as a secondary driver? They said they knew I'd be driving it everyday. A lot of people I know do that, and they don't let me do it.

Nah go somewhere else, that's bull ****. Some insurance companies are really SHADY and they don't want to so you can pay them WAY MORE MONEY that way. If they put you down for a secondary driver they know they're gonna be losing A LOT of money a month. I'd tell your parents to find a better insurance company. Try 21st Insurance or something...

I guess it depends, really. For me, Geico wants twice as much $$ as anybody else. Strange.

Ah, the power of choice. Shop around and I'm sure you'll find a better deal. The good thing about MD is that you pay for 6 months and if you find a better deal and change insurance after 3 months they have to refund you for the last 3 months(I'm fairly certain of this, if I'm wrong please tell me).

Re: Insurance Problem..

What everyone said so far is true. But in Florida where you and I live, the Ins companies see a lot of fraud and stuff, so they know what to look for most of the time.
It also depends on the number of cars versus drivers in the family, they figure that if there are 3 licensed drivers and 3 cars, then there is no way you will be driving it part time. Remember in Florida our mass transit system sucks or none existent.
Unfortunately, you will probably face this no matter where you shop, but it is worth a try.
