the paint will never be as good as from the factory nor would it be as durable. it could also affect resale value. i would much rather buy a G that has not been repainted.

there are plenty of clear bra insgtallers everywhere

maybe you should try a search in your regional forum to turn something up. there's no need to bring it to the dealer.

I dont think you understand very well the concept of a clear bra/installer.

There is no such thing as an Infiniti Clear Bra. All Clear Bras are aftermarket! The very After Market product that your dealer is quoting at $850-$900 may well be available cheaper at a local installer.

It would seem quality of the installation coupled with the product selected and of course, cost, are major factors.

We'd all like to think that our dealer is not going to use an installer of inferior quality, but that can be no more the case than finding that all Infiniti mechanics are of consistent high quality.

I have visited many local shops, talked to the dealer from whom my wife is getting her car, read here in the various forums, swapped E-mails with knowledgeable installers on g35driver.

I think you are doomed to do your homework and talk to and visit local installers. It is no more likely that someone can give you a one post reply here that will be the epiphany you seek - at least no more likely to provide the answer you need than posting a question like, "What is the best Infiniti Color combination?" Oh wait a minute - that happens all the time.

That can't be for the bumper, fenders, hood, and mirrors. I believe most are paying about $600 or about $480 US.

I paid $410 or about $330 US for my 3M full coverage here in Halifax. After the guy did mine he said it was the toughest car he had done with the hood/bumper shape.

Yes you can and it seems to be a good idea to keep a strong shine matching the car paint.

My Infiniti dealer wanted $1200 and I knew that they just subcontract to a 3rd party. The installer my dealer uses is close to work and I felt they do an adequate job. So I talked the dealer down to $700 for a premium kit (all exposed front surfaces including chin spoiler, side mirrors, door sills, door edges, door handles, gas tank, trunk lip). It's still more than the going rate around here ($500 to $650) but they gave me a free loaner for the day (brand new G sedan) and I got to play around with it. So I'm happy.

I just had my done a few days ago. I had 1000 miles on the car before I did it. Cost me 520 for the bumper, hood, fenders, and mirror. Plus I paid another 75 for the headlight to be coated with a thicker clear bra. It was not a pre-cut kit. The installer used a machine to cut a large sheet of film to custom fit the car. I have heard many 3Ms that strech to the edge on one side and the other side has a huge gap. I think my looks great. I wish I would have done it sooner. I did notice a few very small rock chips from highway driving.

The clear bra film is made by Venture Shield. This product is suppose to be better than 3M. 3M is more brittle and may crack over time. Plus this product heals it self after impact with rock chips.

I would take a picture of it, but it wouldn't show up.

The person who installed my at a dealer's cost. I gave him business b4 so he cut me a deal.

I used the same shop that does the 3M clear bra installation for the Abq Infiniti dealer - $300 for the front bumper and both mirror backs.

Just got mine installed (picked up the car today), by the dealer. Looks good.
Similar deal to ChemEngr, premium ClearArmor kit (3M based), for a little bit cheaper, $600. (Frontier Infiniti by any chance ?)

And yes, I had fun with the loaner too ;-)
