Driving to Phoenix,AZ.

I will be driving to Phoenix from Los Angeles. I am wondering if I should drive my G or rent a car.The temperatures are going to be in the 110's and I am afraid that it will put too much pressure on the car.
What would you guys do if you were in my place? I am going for 3 days.

You'll be fine. Some of us actually live here and drive in those temps all summer.

Drive it. It's a great cruizer. Get a clear bra first tho.
Enjoy.

I drive from south Orange County to St. George, Utah (110* in the summer) quite frequently in my G and I haven't had a problem.

I would go for it, unless you are worried about mileage or something. How many miles do you have now?

Mileage is not a problem. I have 10700 now and I am not leasing.I was just afraid that something might happen and then you pay double in repairs. For many years I had developed the notion to always rent on longer trips but I am leaning towards driving the G after all your feedbacks.

Rock chips will be terrible...I guarantee w/all the trucks that take the 10 fwy you will get at least 10 chips...that is my forecast

Are you taking the I40? I drove from San Diego to Chicago. It was very enjoyable. If you don't get a clear bra, at least get a vinyl one. This car was made for cruisin'. Just watch out for the cops.

with only 10,700 miles on the car you've got absolutely nothing to worry about as far as wear and tear or failure. enjoy the drive and stay away from (or in front of ) all the trucks.

I recently drove to Tennessee from Albuquerque and back on I-40 with no rock chips (I do have a 3M clear bra). The G35C is made for interstate cruising. I can't imagine having the car and not driving on that trip. If you want to keep going a bit, it's much nicer in NM than in AZ.
