Unhappy Getting a New Tranny

Well, I've put it off too long. My tranny has been grinding going into 3rd gear when extremely cold since 2003. Well, now it doesn't have to be too cold at all. The grinding goes away after the drivetrain warms, but forget to shift like a granny until then and....crunch!!! I took delivery of my Coupe in December 2002.

Fields Infiniti in Glenview will replace my tranny with 32010-CD008, which is the latest edition of the 6MT and also available in the '05 G35s. They'll also replace my clutch (which was still good) and my flywheel. I'm going to take this opportunity to put in the 14lb JWT flywheel. Thanks for all the input on the flywheel. It's a no nonesense mod and I'm not paying for labor. The tranny is already at the dealership and the flywheel will make it on Monday. I'll let you guys know how everything goes. Wish me luck.

Sounds like a great mod. Hope you have better luck with the new version 6M/T.

Great, I just had my transmission replaced at Infiniti of Santa Monica. It took them three weeks and they also threw in a new clutch and flywheel. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised with the feel. It engages much smoother and the shifting is tight. It was well worth the wait.

Just got that tranny put in my car a couple of weeks ago, BIG improvement! I had a major 3rd and 5th grind problem and then believe it or not 2nd started up on me? Anyway, really happy how Infiniti has treated me as this is my 2nd replacement (3rd tranny including the one as new). I think this 008 tranny is the fix.....fingers crossed!

BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
Huh when I shift into 3rd I noticed the grind to.
The dealer inspected it about 6 months ago and said it's fine.

It still grinds into 3rd every now and then.
My ebrake however, doesn't always seem to work well on the hills.
When I let go of the clutch while in first it still rolls back a little even with the ebrake on...is that normal or just me?
