i dunno if this helps but i did mine at tint pros in Huntington beach right up the street from me.... awesome F1 film, and they basically painted the top back to get rid of the dots, let it dry for a few hrs and tinted over it... worked out perfect.... and looks hot as faq....

My window tint is 15% and it went fine over the dot matrix. While I was getting my windows done, the tint rep showed up to refill stock and was even surprised that the tint went over the dots. I dont know if he did something special or not, but it worked great for me!
