Miles traveled / gallon filled = MPG

Post that number here...

Most people get 17 to 19 mpg during the break-in period. The average posted here for "normal" driving is between 18 and 20. Some get as low as 13mpg in their stock coupes, but that seems to be very rare.

I averaged 18mpg for my first 3 tanks of gas, and then I stopped calculating because I really don't care about milage, I'd much rather enjoy this sports coupe. As you point out, the G is most definitely NOT a Honda, it's a car to be driven for performance with luxury. You can get better gas milage by driving very conservatively, but then why on earth would you have spent the extra money on the G if you didn't want to experience the performance.

Whatever you do, don't use anything but premium gas.

My car is now @ 11k miles. The mileage is between 21-22 MPG and that's medium driving w/ a couple of redline runs. I did get around 17-20 MPG in the first 5-7k miles.

Hahaha, MPG's is not the G's forte, but it sure gives big bang for the buck tho.

My Sedan would get 27 mpg's on the hwy, but overall it got low 20's.
My Coupe would get 26 on the hwy, but overall it got low 20's.
Of course the harder you push it, the lower the mpg's.

Let it break in then check the mpg's, and have fun in the meantime.
C.

^^^ While a decent read, I didn't gain any information from my perusal of the owners manual. If you spend a few days getting to know the car, you should be able to figure out most of the functions. There is a pretty funny section where Infiniti gives you the recommend speeds for upshifting - they tell you to be in 6th gear at 35 miles per hour. What a knee slapper.

Did you buy your ride used? I was not aware that Nissan dealerships could sell new Infinitis. It sounds like you have some learning to do about your car. Try the search button on this site (if you can find it). Every question you can think of has been discussed on this forum, and there are some pretty good answers out there. Good luck.

Ahh, you noticed

Also got an eclipse spyder mt and spit in the tank every three weeks or so with regular gas.

Like Gsedanman said, ...MPG's is not the G's forte, but it sure gives big bang for the buck tho.

Like everything else in life, u wanna play, u gotta pay dude and depressing the pedal on the G is addictive.

Don't accelerate as fast from a stop. Uses a lot and anything above around 60 mph uses a lot. I think from 62 to 75 MPH you get a 15% decrease.

The AC on full also uses a ton of gas.

VDC is our G's version of traction control......it stands specifically for Vehicle Dynamic Control. It cuts power from the engine when it detects, through sensors, that the wheels are slipping. Turn it off for more fun and better performance when the streets are not slick.
