Balding tires already? 1200 miles...

I just purchased an 05 coupe. btw, i am in love. Anyway, wtf... my tires are worn 50% already. Have i been hard on the tires? No, except i did race my bosses FX45 4 times. Still, shouldn't these tires be good for 20k+ miles? It will cost me over $700 to replace the 19's!

They should last longer, but $700 is a heck of a deal. I ordered some Pilot Sport PS/2's at a local tire shop and thought I was getting a pretty good price for $1540 mounted.

is there a pattern (i.e. middle, sides, interior part of the tire)?

yea.... I've had my car for 9 months and the rear tires are pretty much gone. I just bought 2 new pilots for $600. Planning on making good use of whats left on the old tires first though

You should get the alignment checked when you get the new tires mounted.
some of our cars come with too much toe-in.

If you dont drive like crazy, then your roads must be bad... At 3800 miles, my tires were totally fukd up.

Half the tread in 1200 miles! Yikes. Either you're driving the hell out of it or your alignment is way off.
have it checked out. That doesn't sound right to me.

You wouldn't believe what just ONE smoky burnout will do for the life of your VERY soft compound tires. I had a DUCATI Dharma 900 once. I put a big fat Pirelle tire on the back. It lasted 1800 miles! I didn't do burn outs on it (didn't have the *****) but just from pure speed, it wore them out fast. They would sure hold the road, however.

BTW, I just priced a set of Goodyear Eagle F-1's at Sam's Club.

245-35ZR-18 88Y VSB GS-D3 mounted, ballanced, road hazard, free rotation, free flat repair

Price: $1009.41

The only catch is you pay up front, and it takes 5-8 days to get them in.

Something is wrong with this picture: only 1200 miles on the tires and already < 50% tread!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My rear tires lasted 25k miles (yea they were pretty bald though).
