I'm afraid 90 days is the normal estimate. My dealer said the worst case he's seen is a week late (that's 90 days plus one week) and the best case was a month early (that's two month's total). I ordered mine on 8 March with an estimated delivery date of 8 June. I pick it up tomorrow!! (31 May).

Again, my wife has been waiting since 1/27 - that's 123 Days so far. (That is if we were counting. ) We're in the Suburbs of DC.

My dealer says they will give me a tracking number so I will know where in production it is and when it is being transported. Have you asked your dealer about this? Maybe they didn't get the order in until the next month. My understanding is they have a window between the 5th and 7th of each month to have the order in.

G_Rock,

Thanks for the suggestion! Actually, we haven't asked. She currently drives a red Mitsubishi 3000 GT and she has been allowing me to develop my Zaino skills on that car. (It becomes mine when her Red G35 CPE arrives.)

I have been keeping track of the inventory at the (4) dealerships within 20 miles of my home here outside of Washington, DC. During the past six-weeks I have seen a steady decline in G35's shown in their inventory - nationwide the CPE sales have brisk, so this makes sense.

The strange thing that I am seeing is that there does not seem to be new stock flowing in to replace the sold vehicles and this is very much the case with the 6MT's. I would think that the nationwide brisk sales and the fact that there are presumably at least three more months of '05 sales ahead would suggest that maybe there is either a shipping glitch or production run issue that is delaying "custom" ordered stock, if not all stock.

At my dealership, for example, their on-hand stock of CPE 6MT's has dwindled down from a high of 18 to a current 6 on hand - and I suspect that these are "demos."

Next time my wife yells at me because her car isn't here, I'll take your suggestion and ask about a Tracking Number or VIN.

That is probably because they are gettin ready to get rid of the 05s for the 06s coming in. No need to stock them anymore and have to get rid of them at ridiculous prices later...

I don't think CA people really have to "order" and wait as long as months The trade off for a diverse supply is that we pay higher costs and dealers aren't too willing to negotiate

I also had to order my '05 6MT Coupe (mainly because of no premium pkg... ...just splash guards and trunk mat ). Placed order May 1st and it is supposed to be scheduled to be built end-of-May/early-June with a July delivery.

I'm interested in seeing what sort of weight difference I might see compared to most everyone else. Seems like everyone has at least the Premium Package.

I'm workin on a deal to order a 2006 6MT. Who knows how long it will be before they go to production. But I do know it will be a long long time. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. But I'm spending that time searching to forums for mods.

Talked to my salesman today and apparently I misunderstood. I thought the orders were taken between the 5th and 7th of each month. He tells me today that it's between the 1st and 7th. Makes more sense. He said the sales manager had the day off today, but he had told him yesterday, that he was ordering my car on the 2nd. That's tomorrow. Every day counts when your in waiting.

My car was ordered, it had all the options I wanted except for splash guards. They have a list and I had them bring that one... they owe me the splash guard install, but I dont think I want them anymore. The car looks better without them IMO. Im getting 154$ back from the dealer even though the option online says it costs 210... oh well, its either get 154 back or risk my car getting scratched by careless dealer installers.
