a/c line hole...

a/c line hole...
okay, after i installed my intake, I noticed the intake rubbing the a/c line. I thought nothing of it because I thought the line was hard...like my 240. Well, a/c went out yesterday so I checked under the hood. THe intake rubbed the line so much that it made a hole in the line. So now I'll be putting my stock airbox, thank you very much. I was wondering if I could use JB weld to patch the hole in my line. Or should I just take in for repair? Does anyone know around how much would it cost to get that fixed? Also, could I recharge the a/c myself? I noticed a neon colored oil coming out of the line. I read on the sticker that the compressor uses luminous oil or something like that. Would it be a problem if I used the recharge kit from walmart? Man, it sucks driving around a car w/out a/c. Please reply asap. Thank you very much.

Here is how I avoided that same problem you had from happening.

You can read about what I did to fix it here: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/55516-z-tube-pop-charger-s-rubbing-ac-line.html
Good luck in getting the A/C line replaced, I hear the dealer charges a decent amount for it. Glad I am protecting mine before it got to that point. Best of luck.

I saw the title of this thread and my nuts cringed....
I think other people have said this repair is some big $$$$$! I think one person welded it shut but others have had to replace and recharge the AC system....big $$$
Here is a portion of the original thread on this subject. I think a bunch of the thread got lost in the website upgrade.....

just because your car is lowered has nothing to do with your AC...
You live in Honolulu right? Good luck man, that service dept. is suspicious of every car being modded and getting out of warranty paying for stuff.
A hypothetical idea of what one COULD do is put your stock airbox and intake tube on, make it so that the metal clamp's screw is near the AC line to make it seem like the stock intake tube's screw caused the AC line hole. Make sure though that the engine dust (esp. on the stock intake tube) is consistent with the rest of the engine bay so it doesn't look like you messed with it...... This is just a hypothetical idea you understand.
Good luck.....
