Tax Rate in Southern California for new cars?

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know the tax rate So Cali dealers charge when adding to the final cost? Is it 7.75% in certain areas? Or is it 8%?

It all depends on where you register it right?

LA County voters voted to add .25% to help fund the MetroLink train system. Ventura County did not. I don't know what the base rate for the state is.
